WE ARE THE WORLD

“We Are the World” was recorded in 1985 to help the turmoil in Africa. Many artists came on this new video help all the earthquake victims that had its video premiere on Friday night during the Olympics. This song has already reached number one on itunes and has been viewed on YouTube 4 million times.

“We Are the World” was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. The 2010 version was done by the original producer for the song, Quincy Jones along with newer collaborators such as  Lady Gaga’s producer, RedOne, and Will.i.am.  Various artists have been featured in this song such as Jennifer Hudson, Pink, Barbra Streisand, Mary J Blige, Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, actor Vince Vaughn Toni Braxton, Jennifer Nettles (from Sugarland), Nicole Scherzinger (from Pussycat Dolls) and many more.

The remake had already been in the works for the Grammy Awards this past January, but when the earthquake hit Haiti on Jan. 12, the song acquired an immediate cause and a particular performer, Wyclef Jean. He is a Haitian-American songwriter, singer and rapper from the Fugees and one of the remake’s producers.

The intentions have been made very clear about the remake, so hopefully the song and video will bring in many donations. “We Are the World 25 for Haiti” makes a big move so definitely check out the link below and create an opinion of your own. Sorry I don't have the actual video posted here on my blog, but I couldn't figure out how to resize it to make it fit. Please make any donations to Haiti that you can because anything helps.
